Kootenay Connection is a digital platform dedicated to helping small businesses in the Creston Valley and surrounding Kootenays grow and thrive. We believe that unique local services, products and experiences often go unnoticed and our mission is to connect them with people who may not yet know they exist or havent had a reason or incentive to visit them.
We are deeply rooted in the Kootenays. I have served on local boards and worked with non-profit organizations such as Kootenay Employment Services and Valley Community Services. My wife has also been engaged with many community groups and helped support local initiatives aimed at business owners and residents. Our shared experience has shown us how valuable community and connection are and how challenging it can be for small business owners to reach new audiences and build sustainable customer relationships and ultimately help the community grow and thrive.
Kootenay Connection was founded to help solve two key challenges we heard again and again from local businesses: first the challenge of acquiring new customers, especially those who are not already local regulars, second the burden and risk of marketing and advertising costs up front with no guarantee of return. With this platform businesses join at no cost and maintain full control over the offer(s) they choose, when it runs and how many redemptions are allowed. Meanwhile users purchase a seasonal pass to access curated local offers, meaning the businesses involved are being presented to an audience that is already engaged and ready to discover.
Our aim is not simply one-time visits but to help small business thrive by connecting them with new customers and helping them build meaningful connections and additional, sustainable clientele.
