A free Kootenay Connection account lets you browse every participating business, see every active offer (including VIP-only offers), search by town and category, and follow what is happening across the region. You can look at everything. Redeeming an offer is what needs a VIP Pass; there are no free redemptions.

CAD $50, paid once. It is valid for 12 months from the day you buy it and does not renew automatically; you can buy a new Pass after it expires. It lets you redeem every active offer, including VIP-only offers, at every participating business for the full year. Each offer has its own per-person limit.

Visit the business, open the app and tap Redeem Offer. Ask a staff member for their unique 4-digit code, type it into your phone, and show them the green Offer Redeemed screen. That is the whole flow, and it takes a few seconds at the till. Some offers are online instead: tapping one reveals a coupon code and a link to the business's online store.

Each offer sets its own limit: a per-person limit chosen by the business, and some also have a total cap across everyone. The app always shows you the limit before you redeem.

Either. The iOS and Android apps and the web app at user.kootenayconnection.app share the same account and the same Pass. Most people redeem on their phone because that is what is in their pocket at the till.

Yes. A gift certificate is delivered by email right away or on a date you choose, needs no account to purchase, and can be redeemed for up to 12 months from the date of purchase. The Pass it unlocks runs for 12 months from the day it is redeemed. It makes a good birthday or holiday gift for anyone who lives in or visits the Kootenays.
