Five steps from a code in your inbox to a live VIP Pass.

  1. Create or sign in to your account

    You need a Kootenay Connection account to redeem your certificate. If you don't have one yet, create a free account with your email and sign in.

  2. Go to the redemption page

    Once signed in, there are two routes:

    From your account

    App: Account → Become a VIP → Redeem gift certificate

    Web app: Settings → Redeem Gift Code

    Direct link

    Go straight to the redemption page.

  3. Enter your gift code

    Find the 6-character code on your certificate:

    • Check your email for the gift certificate
    • Look for the redemption code
    • Enter it in the redemption form

    ABC123

    Codes are not case-sensitive.

  4. Validate your code

    Select Validate Code to check your certificate. You'll see:

    • VIP Pass confirmation
    • Expiration date
    • Any personal message included

  5. Complete redemption

    Select Redeem Now to activate your VIP Pass. Once redeemed:

    • Your account upgrades to VIP immediately
    • You can redeem every active offer, including VIP-only offers
    • You can start redeeming at participating businesses; each offer has its own per-person limit
    • Your VIP Pass is valid for 12 months from the day you redeem

After redemption

  • Redeem every active offer at participating businesses
  • Browse exclusive offers in the app
  • Start redeeming deals immediately
  • Track your redemption history
  • Enjoy savings for 12 months

Worth knowing

  • One-time use: each gift code can only be redeemed once
  • Account required: you must be signed in to redeem
  • Not while VIP is active: an account with an active VIP Pass cannot redeem a gift code
  • Expiration: certificates must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase
  • Any account can redeem it: once redeemed, the Pass belongs to that account
  • VIP Pass: valid for 12 months from redemption

Using your pass at businesses

Once your certificate is redeemed, here's how to use your active pass.

  1. Browse offers

    Open the app or web app and explore offers from participating businesses.

  2. Visit the business

    Head over, open the offer and tap Redeem Offer.

  3. Get their code

    Ask staff for their 4-digit redemption code.

  4. Redeem and show

    Type the code into your phone, then show the green Offer Redeemed screen to enjoy your savings. Online offers show a coupon code and a store link instead.

Common questions

What if my gift code doesn't work?

Double-check that you entered the code correctly; it is not case-sensitive. If it still does not work, the code may already have been redeemed or expired. Contact support and we will sort it out.

Can I redeem a gift certificate without creating an account?

No. You need a Kootenay Connection account to redeem and use your gift certificate. Creating one is free and takes about a minute.

How long is my VIP Pass valid after redemption?

Your VIP Pass is valid for 12 months from the date you redeem the gift certificate. It does not renew automatically.

Can I redeem a gift certificate if I already have a VIP Pass?

Not while your VIP Pass is active. Any account without an active VIP Pass can redeem it, so you can redeem it after your current Pass expires or pass it on to someone else, as long as it is redeemed within 12 months of purchase. Once redeemed, the Pass belongs to the account that redeemed it.
