Kootenay Connection was created in Creston, BC, from a shared belief that connecting people with local businesses, events and experiences should be easier.
We have deep roots and a deep love for the Kootenays, and we want to help people discover, experience and support the communities we are proud to call home.
It started in Creston. Today Kootenay Connection reaches businesses, events and experiences in communities right across the region, from the West Kootenay to the East, and the small towns in between.
Two perspectives, one idea. One of us has spent decades with businesses and technology, the other with customers and community. Kootenay Connection sits right where those meet.
20+ years in business, community and technology
KC brings more than 20 years of experience in business and technology, along with a strong connection to the community. His work with businesses, community organizations and local initiatives has given him firsthand insight into the challenges businesses face when it comes to advertising, reaching new audiences and gaining new customers.
30+ years in sales and the service industry
Kristeen brings more than three decades of experience working directly with customers, along with a strong connection to people and the communities around her. She has seen firsthand how visitors can feel a little lost when travelling through the Kootenays, often unsure of where to go or what to do, and so many times they simply pass on by. She understands how the right recommendation or offer can turn a simple stop into an unexpected experience, or even a stay.
Together, these perspectives helped shape Kootenay Connection.
The Kootenays are made up of many communities, each with its own businesses, events, experiences, local favourites and vibe.
With so much to discover and so much ground to cover, great businesses and experiences can sometimes be overlooked, by visitors and even by locals looking for something new in their own backyard.
Too often, people drive through our communities without stopping to see what is there. Not everything worth discovering is right in front of you. We want to give people a reason to stay, explore and experience more of what each community has to offer.
